DESCRIPTION:The Fiber Arts Center is Offering Cozy Clam Shell Quilt Class with Mary Zober\n\n\nUsing English paper-piecing techniques\, you will create a mug rug or small wall hanging using small scraps of fabric or fussy cut your pieces.  No repeats make a charm quilt.  No sewing machine required. \n\n\n\nDate:  Saturday\, August 16\, 2025\n\nTime:  10:00am - 2:00pm\n\nCost:  $40.00 Members\, $50.00 Non Members\n\nTo sign up\, please write to Kathleen at info@fiberartscenter.com or phone in the office at 443/448-4611.\n\nSupplies listed below.\n\n\n\nFabric:\n\n  Fabric for the top: You will need a 2-1/2' strip for the 2" clam shells. It can be a scrap piece or something that compliments.\n\n  Fabric for the clamshells: Choose fabrics for the clamshells and any borders or backgrounds. 27 different fabrics clean out those scrap bins no repeats if you want it to be a charm mug rug. For the mug rug 3" pieces of fabric.\n\n  Backing fabric: Fabric to back the quilt. (Mug Rug approx. 9 X 11)\n\n  Batting: Fleece\, cotton\, or polyester batting to fill the quilt. ( Mug Rug approx. 9 x 11)   Binding fabric: This is only needed if you are not bringing the back to the front. Strip of fabric to finish the edges of the quilt.  Tools & Supplies:\n\n  Needles and thread: Quilting needles and thread suitable for the fabrics. We will be piecing\, applique and quilting\n\n  Pins/Fabric Clips: Pins or fabric clips for basting and holding fabric layers in place.\n\n  Cutting tools: Rotary cutter\, rotary cutting mat\, and ruler for precise fabric cutting. This will be used for squaring up your mat\n\n  Marking utensils: Pencils\, chalk\, or markers for tracing the clamshell.\n\n  Scissors: For fabric   Iron and ironing board: For pressing fabric and quilt layers.\n\n  Templates: This is the clam shell template with the seam allowance. I have a few for sale. I usually search under "Sue Daley" clamshell\n\n  Paper pieces: I buy the already cut papers to baste the pieces. They usually come in a pack of 100 and they can be reused.\n\n  Glue: For basting clamshells ( glue stick or glue pen) and applique glue or I use Elmers washable clear glue.
